Establishing BIMP-EAGA as a food basket in ASEAN and the rest of Asia entails transforming agriculture and fisheries into a competitive, inclusive, resilient, smart, sustainable, and digitally enabled sector that boosts productivity and trade while strengthening food security. This strategy is expected to create sustainable livelihoods and reduce poverty.

Strategic Priorities

1. Upgrade and develop infrastructure to strengthen agricultural value chains.

2. Mainstream climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies.

3. Strengthen value-addition and diversification of agro-based and fisheries products to access broader markets while meeting domestic demand.

4. Diversify livelihoods of smallholders.

5. Strengthen partnerships to drive growth and transform agrifood systems.
